What you’ll learn
Our teacher training program covers the full classical repertoire on all apparatus, including mat, reformer, and all major equipment. You'll learn how to deliver exercises in their original order, with proper transitions, pacing, and intention. In addition to movement, you'll study hands-on cueing and teaching techniques that help you communicate clearly, correct effectively, and hold space confidently—whether in private sessions or group classes.
You'll develop a strong understanding of anatomy and functional movement, giving you the foundation to assess bodies and make intelligent programming choices. We also cover common injuries, modifications, and how to progress clients safely and efficiently. Most importantly, you’ll receive real-world experience through teaching practice, observation, and mentorship, preparing you to step confidently into your role as an instructor.
GRATZ EQUIPMENT
We focus on Gratz Pilates, renowned for being the only equipment brand that directly reflects Joseph Pilates’ original designs. This commitment to authenticity ensures that your training remains true to the foundational principles he established, setting it apart from other offerings in the market.
During the program, you will engage with a spectrum of classical apparatus commonly found in professional Pilates studios. This includes the Reformer, Cadillac (often recognized as the Trapeze Table), Wunda Chair, Ladder Barrel, Spine Corrector, and Magic Circle. Each piece of equipment is designed to enhance your understanding of movement and support your body in developing strength, flexibility, and control.
In addition to the apparatus, the training will incorporate Mat work and various smaller classical props such as the Toe Corrector and Foot Corrector. This comprehensive structure will deepen your appreciation of how each tool not only supports your practice but also offers unique challenges, ultimately enriching your overall Pilates experience. Through this focused approach on Gratz equipment, you will gain a solid foundation that honors the integrity of Pilates while fostering personal growth in your practice.
Program Structure
The full training takes place in person at Superior Pilates. Your schedule will include structured training modules, practice teaching, observation, and self-practice.
